Public Workshops

We offer just four workshops, each on a different topic and each is four hours long. These half-day workshops are the foundation you need to help you and your organization make better decisions and get better results. Material presented in these classes will enable you to:

Engage in super-productive conversation with all levels of colleague
Influence your organization to achieve outstanding results
Develop richer and more supportive business relationships (and a more harmonious workplace)
Skillfully navigate difficult conversations one-on-one, in meetings, in work groups, or anywhere
Get the people in your organization on the same page if they aren't already

Class Descriptions

Critical Thinking Workshop (4 Hours) click for course outline

This is the one that started it all! These techniques will teach you how to critically examine topics in order to help your business make better decisions and therefore get better results. Learn to:

Clearly, effectively, and fearlessly share your thoughts and positions with whomever you choose.
Create an environment in which others objectively evaluate your thoughts and share their own, aiming for productive collaboration.
Master strategies that allow you to easily identify the key questions in order to resolve a controversy or select the right course of action.
Objectively analyze and compare claims, evidence, and the connection between them to select the right alternative.

Influence Workshop (4 Hours) click for course outline

Many people think of influence as power, but influence is really the ability to guide the actions of others WITHOUT exercising power. In this class, we explain the influence model and show how to develop the skills needed to influence an individual, a work group, and how to assess the influence of an organization (and therefore its probability of success). We show the best ways to choose what skills to learn to have more influence, how to coach others, and how to identify the "right" people and help them to help you.

Relationship Management Workshop (4 hours) click for course outline

Universally agreed as one of the most difficult areas in workplace communication, relationships are tricky and it takes skill to learn how to honestly and authentically work through problems with people that have different values, goals, motivation, and perspectives. This class is where you learn to deal with defensiveness, deception, performance problems, hidden agendas, and other unhealthy behaviors. When your relationships are good, so is your support base.

Communication Mastery Workshop (4 hours) click for course outline

In order to master communication, one must practice. The fastest route to success is peer coaching and mentoring, where students help each other to refine their abilities and learn from their real-world experiences. This coaching is supervised by an instructor, who also teaches the fine points of such skills as leading meetings, giving presentations, and techniques used to persuade others. NOTE - Two other Pathfinder courses (your choice) are prerequisite to this class
This is a safe, judgment-free environment where the attendees can experiment and personalize their approach in order to achieve mastery. Once an attendee has successfully completed the Foundation workshop, they can attend as many Mastery workshops as they like.

Policies

The cancellation deadline is 7 calendar days before the workshop date.

Cancellations must be made in writing and should be sent to cancel@pathfindercommunication.net OR mailed to Pathfinder Communication LLC, P.O. Box 500925 San Diego, CA 92150.

For cancellations postmarked or emailed before the cancellation deadline, a processing fee of $50 for each individual cancellation will be assessed.

After the cancellation deadline, there will be no refunds for cancellations of any type or for no-shows.

In the event that Pathfinder Communication cancels an event, enrollee payments at the date of cancellation will be refunded in full.

In the event that Pathfinder Communication postpones an event, enrollee payments at the postponement date will be credited towards the rescheduled date. If the enrollee is unable to attend the rescheduled event, the enrollee will be refunded in full.

Pathfinder Communication is not responsible for any loss or damage as a result of a substitution, alteration or cancellation/postponement of an event. Pathfinder Communication shall assume no liability whatsoever in the event this conference is cancelled, rescheduled or postponed due to a fortuitous event, Act of God, unforeseen occurrence or any other event that renders performance of this conference impracticable or impossible. For purposes of this clause, a fortuitous event shall include, but not be limited to: war, fire, labor strike, extreme weather or other emergency.

Please note that speakers and topics were confirmed at the time of publishing, however, circumstances beyond the control of the organizers may necessitate substitutions, alterations or cancellations of the speakers and/or topics. As such, Pathfinder Communication reserves the right to alter or modify the advertised speakers and/or topics if necessary. Any substitutions or alterations will be updated on our web page as soon as possible.
